The Texas Center for Quality & Patient Safety is a collaborative of hospitals and organizations focused on transformational change. The center gratefully thanks founding underwriter Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, for providing essential funding, without which these lifesaving collaboratives would not be possible. Contributions from CIGNA Health Insurance Company and United Healthcare are also greatly appreciated.

Through these grants, the center will focus initially on three projects: a statewide collaborative to reduce or eliminate central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) in hospital intensive care units, a hospital collaborative to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI), and a project designed to reduce hospital readmissions for specific patient populations.
